I consider Ambleside to be my second home. In fact, the whole Lake District feels like my second home, but Ambleside in particular.
I’ve lived in and around there for a good few years during my life, and importantly I “grew up” there between the ages of 16 and 20. I left home to go and live there, and it’s where I really developed a love of the outdoors.
I still visit several times a year, and when we do, we like to hire cottages or houses etc.. in or around the village.
This is the view from one such place. It’s looking North over the rooftops of Ambleside towards High and Low Fell.
We will be staying in the same property for a week at New Year, and we are looking forward to the fireworks display under Loughrigg.
